While a growing number of developers barely remember how to write code manually, this has not stopped Logitech from launching a new gadget tailored specifically for them. The company unveiled the MX Keypad on Tuesday, a new macro keyboard designed to streamline workflows in various development environments through deep LLM integration.

Nine Keys for All Your Development Tasks

The MX Keypad features nine customizable color LCD keys that can be personally programmed. Each key can execute scripts, run terminal macros, or send complex prompts with a single click. To prevent clutter, Logitech has integrated an intelligent profile system that automatically detects the active application and changes the display and commands on the keys in real time. For instance, switching from VS Code to Slack or Claude Code dynamically updates the shortcuts accordingly. If you require more than nine actions within a single software, the device includes two navigation buttons allowing access to up to 15 different pages. According to Logitech, developers can assign physical buttons to perform quick refactoring, run tests, or display the status of all background AI agents.

Furthermore, because the MX Keypad was developed in collaboration with GitHub, it offers native support for GitHub Copilot and Claude Code.

«Developers can assign physical buttons to perform quick refactoring, run tests, or display the status of all background agents.»

SDK Support and Israeli Launch Details

For those wishing to build custom tools, the company is releasing the Logi Actions SDK with support for C# and Node.js. Weighing 96 grams, the MX Keypad connects to the computer via a simple USB-C cable and is available in graphite and light gray colors with support for Windows 10 or macOS 13 and above. It is scheduled to launch in Israel in October with a recommended retail price of 499 ILS.
