Israeli Celebrities Dive Into Tech and AI Investments

Itamar Minmer, a prominent technology and cyber journalist who recently transitioned from Channel 12 to establish a strategic communications and consulting firm for startups, has released a new digital report detailing how Israeli celebrities are redirecting their fortunes into the tech sector.

Major Investments in AI and Cybersecurity

At the top of the list is pop star Omer Adam, who holds a partnership in the Israeli data center firm Anan, alongside Maor Malul and investment figure Nissim Sariel-Gaon. The company recently signed a massive deal with the American AI and cloud computing infrastructure giant Crusoe Technologies, which partners with industry leaders like OpenAI and Oracle.

As part of the agreement, providing an initial 40-megawatt AI HPC infrastructure from the company's site in Afula, Anan's estimated valuation surged past $1 billion. Concurrently, Adam entered the cybersecurity sector by investing $1 million in Aryon Security, a startup developing AI-driven solutions to reduce cloud attack surfaces.

Venture Capital and Startup Growth

The $25 million Series A funding round for Aryon also welcomed actor and comedian Assi Cohen. Cohen subsequently expanded his portfolio by joining mentalist Lior Suchard in investing in the Israeli cybersecurity firm Huskeys, which specializes in network security.

Suchard is no stranger to the industry, serving as a partner at Merlin Ventures and an advisor to startups. Huskeys recently closed a $27 million funding round led by global investment giant Blackstone, marking its rare early-stage investment in an Israeli cyber firm.

Meanwhile, former NBA player Omri Casspi has established himself as a prominent venture capitalist. His firm, Swish Ventures, recently closed $250 million for its third fund, bringing its total assets under management to approximately $800 million. Out of 21 portfolio companies, nine have reached unicorn status with valuations exceeding $1 billion, led by cloud security firm Upwind at $3.8 billion.
