The Central District Court in Lod sentenced Alexander Granovsky from Petah Tikva to 13.5 years in prison today after he was convicted of offenses against state security. Granovsky maintained contact with an Iranian agent and carried out assignments, including photographing power stations and the neighborhood of MK Benny Gantz, torching nine vehicles, and spraying graffiti. According to the prosecution, this is the harshest sentence handed down so far in cases involving Israelis operating for Iranian handlers.
According to the indictment, Granovsky was aware he was working for a hostile entity but continued cooperation, asking for more significant tasks. He followed instructions to conceal his identity and received thousands of dollars via digital wallet for his actions.
