Likud Files Police Complaint Against Retired Col. Over Incitement Claims
The Likud party filed a police complaint against retired Col. Miki Kesari over alleged incitement and calls for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to face a firing squad.

The Likud party has filed a formal criminal complaint with the Israel Police against retired Colonel Miki Kesari, accusing him of incitement to violence against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The legal action follows an investigative report broadcast by Channel 14.
Details of the Complaint and Allegations
According to the complaint submitted by attorney Ilan Bombach, the allegations stem from leaked WhatsApp chat messages in which Kesari allegedly accused the prime minister of treason and suggested he should face a firing squad. The correspondence reportedly included an AI-generated image depicting Netanyahu alongside Nukhba terrorists attacking Israeli civilians.
The Likud party emphasized that the statements go far beyond legitimate political dissent. "The meaning of calling for a person to be placed before a firing squad is clear—execution," the complaint stated, noting that the rhetoric creates a direct and severe security risk for the prime minister.
Background and Demands for Investigation
Lawyers representing the party highlighted Kesari's military background as a former commander of the submarine fleet and his ongoing ties to the IDF through lectures to soldiers. Likud has urged law enforcement agencies to launch an immediate criminal investigation.
"We call on the law enforcement system to take a hard line against the rampant incitement targeting Prime Minister Netanyahu," the Likud party said in an official statement.
