Moments of anxiety were recorded over the weekend on Remez Street in Tel Aviv, where a local resident climbed onto the roof of a residential building in the city center and threatened to commit suicide. Large police forces from the Lev Tel Aviv station in the Yarkon district were dispatched to isolate the scene and initiate negotiations.
During the communication with police negotiators, the man set a clear condition: "The only person who will make me not jump is Yehuda Poliker." While police initially questioned the nature of the threat, it soon became evident that this was the only viable path to a peaceful resolution.
Within minutes, officers were sent to the singer's home in the middle of the night. Poliker, who was asleep, was awakened and surprised by the unusual request. During a phone call that lasted several minutes, the details of which remain private, Poliker managed to convince the man to come down from the roof, thus preventing a tragedy.
"I have been serving for a long time, but I have not experienced such a strange event in all my years," a police source involved in the incident told N12. "It was a bizarre event, but we took it with the utmost seriousness. Everything was handled quickly due to the urgency of the matter. The neighbors were frightened, and it was evident that it was a serious threat. We understood that it was a matter of life and death, and we thank Yehuda Poliker for responding to our requests during those dramatic moments."
