Lenovo Launches IdeaPad Vibe Laptop Starting at $700 to Rival Apple
Lenovo has unveiled the IdeaPad Vibe, a budget-friendly laptop designed to compete with Apple's MacBook Neo. The device offers 14-inch and 15-inch options with AMD and Qualcomm processors.

Lenovo has introduced the IdeaPad Vibe, a new laptop targeting the accessible PC market and positioned to compete directly with Apple's MacBook Neo. While pricing starts at $700, Lenovo offers a broader range of configurations, two physical sizes, and multiple processor families compared to Apple's offering.
Specifications and Configurations
The IdeaPad Vibe will be available in 14-inch and 15-inch variants, powered by either Qualcomm Snapdragon X or AMD Ryzen AI 400 processors. Depending on the configuration, users can select up to 24GB or 32GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. Lenovo plans to introduce Intel-based models at a later stage.
Display options feature OLED screens with refresh rates up to 120Hz, accompanied by a 5-megapixel webcam supporting Windows Hello and equipped with a physical privacy shutter. The AMD-powered models will offer two battery capacities: 50Wh or 65Wh.
Connectivity, Portability, and Design
A major advantage of the Vibe over the Neo is its extensive port selection. Lenovo has included four USB ports (two USB-A and two USB-C), a 3.5mm audio jack, a microSD card reader, and a full-sized HDMI port.
-
14-inch model: weighs approximately 1.27 kg with a thickness of about 1.5 cm.
-
15-inch model: weighs approximately 1.5 kg.
Lenovo is also steering away from the standard gray aesthetic common in this category. The IdeaPad Vibe will be offered in seven colors, including purple, gold, green, blue, and coral, under names such as Dreamy Violet, Spicy Gold, and Zen Green.
Pricing and Market Launch
Although the starting price is set at $700, it comes with a notable caveat: the base configuration includes only 8GB of RAM. The AMD-based models are scheduled to launch in October, followed by the Snapdragon versions in November, with Intel configurations arriving at a later date.
