"I must pause for a moment from sitting by the bedside of my son, who is hooked up to life support after being struck by a Palestinian terrorist, to respond to the dangerous lies spread by New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani," he wrote. "In fact, it is hard to find even a single sentence in Mamdani's post that is not a lie."

In a statement marking three years since the October 7 massacre, Mamdani described it as a "very painful day for many New Yorkers," noting that Hamas murdered over 1,100 Israelis and abducted 251 people. However, he claimed that the suffering "did not begin or end on that day," accused the Israeli government of "ongoing genocide in Gaza" and war crimes, and called for an end to "occupation and apartheid."

Rejection of Genocide Allegations

Leiter rejected the allegations against Israel regarding its conduct in the Gaza Strip.

"Let it be clear: the only attempted genocide in this conflict was carried out by the barbarians he supports—Hamas—who slaughtered, raped, and murdered in the most shocking ways imaginable," he wrote.

Leiter added that there is no genocide, ethnic cleansing, or starvation in Gaza, blaming Hamas for operating from within civilian populations and stealing humanitarian aid. He concluded by stating that Israel and its allies will not be deterred from defending civilization against terrorist barbarism.
