LeBron James Teases Partnership with Prediction Platform Polymarket
NBA star LeBron James has posted a video hinting at a collaboration with prediction market Polymarket. The partnership is expected to focus on football campaigns, with details to be released later this week.

NBA superstar LeBron James has posted a video on his social media accounts hinting at an upcoming partnership with the decentralized prediction platform Polymarket.
The 14-second clip, shared on X, shows James inside an elevator at the Polymarket offices, descending to a floor dedicated to sports. The post was captioned:
"Welcome to Polymarket HQ. Details coming soon. Video in partnership with Polymarket."
According to a CNBC report, the video serves as a preview for a broader marketing campaign between James and Polymarket, which will specifically focus on football. A source familiar with the matter stated that further details would be released later this week. The financial terms of the agreement have not been disclosed.
League Regulations and Athlete Endorsements
League rules strictly limit active players from making financial investments in companies that offer sports betting or similar prediction products directly related to their own sport. However, James is joining a growing list of elite athletes partnering with prediction platforms.
Earlier this year, Miami Heat star Giannis Antetokounmpo became a shareholder in rival platform Kalshi, agreeing to participate in promotional events. Kalshi specified that Antetokounmpo is barred from trading on any markets related to the NBA or its teams.
Polymarket already holds partnerships with major professional leagues, including the NFL, MLB, and NHL, as well as prominent franchises like the New York Yankees. Neither James' representatives nor Polymarket have issued an official comment on the deal.
Career Transition
James, the NBA's all-time leading scorer, announced in July that he is joining the Philadelphia 76ers for his 24th professional season.
According to ESPN, he signed a two-year contract worth $8 million, representing a significant pay cut from the $50 million salary he earned last season with the Los Angeles Lakers. The new NBA season is scheduled to begin mid-next month.
