Good news for bathers and residents of the northern region: The Ministry of Health announced today the lifting of the bathing warning at Bat Galim beach in Haifa. The decision was made after the latest seawater sampling tests yielded completely normal results, indicating that the concern for public health has passed.
This update effectively concludes a dramatic week for Haifa's beaches. As recalled, at the beginning of the week, the Ministry of Health instructed the public to evacuate immediately from all the city's beaches and to refrain from entering the water. The directive was issued following abnormal sampling results, which indicated a concern regarding seawater quality due to microbial contamination.
During the week, as normal results were received from repeated tests, the city's beaches began to return to routine operation. First, the Dado, Zamir, Hof HaCarmel, Hof HaStudentim, and Hof HaShaket beaches were opened, and subsequently, the Ministry of Health approved the opening of the Naot beach in Kiryat Haim. Bat Galim beach was the last one remaining under a bathing warning, and now, with its removal, the reopening of all declared beaches in the area is complete.
At the Ministry of Health, officials welcome the return to routine, but reiterate that even now, with the warning lifted, bathing is permitted only at declared beaches where lifeguard services are active. The public is urged to continue following the latest guidelines.
