The player Beitar Jerusalem is interested in for next season

After yesterday's match (Monday) against Hapoel Ramat Gan, the professional staff of Beitar Jerusalem set their sights on the opponent's left winger, David Asanka. The young player is showing impressive ability at the start of the season, especially in the game against the yellow-and-blacks, and capped off his performance with a tremendous goal into the net of Yonatan Ozer at the end of a successful one-two with Maxim Plakuschenko.

As recalled, Beitar won on penalties against the 'Ordonim' after a tense 3:3 draw, with two goals in the final minutes sending the match to a shootout. Thanks to this victory, the Jerusalemites finished in 7th place in the Toto Cup, while the 'Ordonim' settled for 8th place. This resulted in a difference of about 100,000 shekels in prize money for their coffers.

Asanka caught the eyes of Abramov and Almog Cohen back last season when he played for Ramat Gan in the National League and had a fantastic individual campaign with 7 goals in his first season in the second Israeli league.

Even a season before that, Asanka played for Beitar Nordia Jerusalem in Liga Alef, where he scored 9 goals and helped the team reach the promotion playoffs for the National League. Although they lost 5-2 to Nof HaGalil, it represented a significant career leap for him after Ramat Gan purchased him from Nordia.
