The Saudi newspaper 'Asharq Al-Awsat' published the Hamas version of the operation that led to the arrest of Muin al-Arabid, the 'Head of Shin Bet' of Hamas in the Gaza Strip. Sources in the organization claimed there was an unusual cover story, preparations lasting two months, and the use of ammunition containing a sedative.

Hamas claimed that Shin Bet personnel posed as workers for an international aid organization, offering local residents to set up food and drink stalls in the area where al-Arabid lived to gather information. The operation was carried out on Tuesday and ended with the arrest of al-Arabid. Reports indicate that during the event, his wife, Samah, was killed, and two of his children were wounded.

According to Hamas sources, the plan included the activation of Palestinians who provided residents with vegetables daily and subsequently collected information on specific houses and movements. The special force did not stay in the area permanently but arrived on several short occasions. On the day of the operation, additional personnel appeared in the area, and weapons were allegedly hidden inside the stalls.

According to 'Asharq Al-Awsat', the force tried to surprise al-Arabid as he left his house. During the exchange of fire, al-Arabid was wounded, and a drone dropped a charge on the house. Attempting to flee, he was eventually overpowered and arrested by a squad waiting at the rear. Al-Arabid managed the field of preventive security and intelligence for the organization.

The IDF and Shin Bet stated that special forces raided a building in Gaza City and arrested the head of internal security for Hamas in the Gaza Strip. During the operation, the Air Force carried out targeted strikes on military targets to remove threats to the forces. The arrested terrorist had been working to establish Hamas control in the northern part of the Strip and to promote terror plots against IDF forces. He was transferred for further investigation by Israeli security forces.
