COGAT issues a highly unusual warning to Gazans: "Do not put your lives at risk"

The Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) published on Wednesday on the unit's Arabic Facebook page, "Al-Munsaq," an unusual message following recent events in the Yellow Line area:

"It is strictly forbidden to approach the Yellow Line deployed along the Strip in accordance with the ceasefire agreement. We hear that Hamas is deliberately pushing you to approach the Yellow Line, while completely ignoring the danger posed to your lives."

According to the statement, "The terrorist organization that brought destruction upon the Strip does not shy away from manipulations and aggressive measures that put you at risk to serve its goals. Do not let Hamas push you into reckless steps that will put your lives at risk and turn you once again into victims of its reckless actions. This warning is intended to keep you safe. Do not put your lives at risk and strictly avoid reaching the Yellow Line. We cannot guarantee the safety of those who violate the instructions and approach it."

As previously reported, yesterday it was revealed that several Hamas terrorists crossed into the yellow zone after being identified by IDF surveillance, stole engineering equipment, and returned to the red zone without fire being opened at them. Furthermore, soldiers testify that they identified the terrorists in real-time and requested permission to eliminate them, but were refused by the senior command. This serious incident testifies to the magnitude of the failures over the last two weeks, since the explicit order from the political echelon to stop firing in the Strip, except in cases of clear and immediate danger to life.
