Real Estate Lawyer Arrested in 1.5 Million Shekel Fraud Investigation
A prominent real estate lawyer was arrested following a joint police and tax authority investigation over the suspected embezzlement of 1.5 million shekels from client trust accounts.

Real Estate Lawyer Arrested in Fraud Probe
Southern District police fraud investigators, in joint operation with the Tax Authority's Diamond Unit, conducted a covert investigation over recent months targeting a prominent real estate lawyer. The suspect faces serious allegations including obtaining property by false pretenses under aggravating circumstances, forgery with intent to defraud, theft by an authorized agent, tax ordinance violations, and money laundering.
The investigation was launched following multiple complaints filed by clients who hired the attorney to handle residential and commercial property transactions. Investigators suspect that clients transferred substantial sums to a dedicated trust account meant to secure the deals and tax payments. However, when the time came to disburse the funds, the attorney allegedly cut ties with the clients and failed to return the money.
Trust Account Embezzlement and Raids
An examination of the trust account transactions revealed that deposited funds were allegedly transferred almost immediately to the suspect's private accounts. The total amount under investigation is currently estimated at 1.5 million shekels.
Upon transitioning to an overt investigation, police raided the suspect's home and office, seizing computers, documents, and other evidence. The attorney was arrested and brought in for questioning, with a court hearing scheduled to extend her detention.
Additional Attorney Arrests in Separate Cases
In an unrelated matter, a lawyer from central Israel was recently arrested on suspicion of smuggling GBL drugs. The narcotics were disguised in bottles labeled as eyelash remover. Customs drug unit investigators at Ben Gurion Airport intercepted the air courier package sent from England via Turkey, leading to a controlled delivery in Tel Aviv and the suspect's subsequent arrest by the 747 unit.
In a third separate case, a lawyer from Tira was arrested by central district police over a systematic document forgery ring designed to help drivers whose licenses had been revoked continue driving illegally.
