Following the breach of order, Highway 4 was blocked to traffic in both directions on the section between the Aluf Sadeh interchange and the Em HaMoshavot interchange.
A police officer who arrived at the scene declared the protest illegal and warned the participants before deploying measures and using force, while Israel Police and Traffic Police officers are operating at the scene and directing drivers to alternative routes.
The police reiterate that the right to protest is a cornerstone of a democratic state and is permitted as long as it takes place within the framework of the law, but on the other hand, no infringement on freedom of movement or behavior that endangers public safety will be tolerated. Drivers are asked to avoid arriving in the area, to travel on alternative routes, and to stay updated at all times on the changing traffic arrangements.
After three weeks in which the arrests of deserters were frozen, another young man was arrested this week.
