The Tax Authority has announced a decision to advance the second payment of the work grant for the 2025 eligibility year. Funds will be transferred to eligible individuals on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, more than a month ahead of the statutory deadline. This measure is intended to allow the public to utilize the grant funds in time for the Tishrei holidays. Eligible recipients will receive the money directly into their bank accounts by the end of next week.
The work grant is provided by the Tax Authority to individuals meeting legal requirements, aiming to improve the economic standing of low-wage earners, reduce socio-economic gaps, and incentivize labor market participation. Applications can be submitted easily via the Tax Authority's website.
Typically, the grant is distributed in installments, with the second payment traditionally scheduled for October 15 of the eligibility year. This year, due to the holiday season, the schedule has been adjusted.
Eligibility criteria include:

Employees and self-employed individuals aged 21 and over who are parents.

Individuals aged 55 and over, regardless of parental status, whose income meets legal thresholds.
Since 2024, an additional grant has been available for employees who are parents of toddlers (under age 3). Furthermore, female employees born after January 1, 1960, who are over 60 years old, may apply for an advance on the 2026 work grant, provided they meet the necessary criteria.
Applications for the 2024 work grant remain open online via the Tax Authority's website until December 31, 2026.
