The holiday season is approaching, and the National Insurance Institute is preparing to deposit one of the most anticipated payments of the year. The monthly child allowance will be transferred directly to the bank accounts of millions of families in Israel on Sunday, September 20, 2026, just in time to assist with the high expenses of the Tishrei holiday period.

Eligibility and Payment Amounts

The allowance is paid monthly for every child who is a resident of Israel until they reach the age of 18. The amount varies depending on the child's position in the family:

  1. For the first child and the fifth child onwards — about 169 NIS per month.

  2. For the second, third, and fourth child — an increased amount of about 214 NIS per child.

In practical terms, an average family in Israel raising three children will receive a total monthly amount of 611 NIS. In annual terms, this is a fixed and guaranteed addition of about 7,330 NIS, serving as an important financial anchor for the family budget.

How to Receive Funds

No special action is required; the money is transferred automatically to the bank account registered to the mother or the receiving parent. The National Insurance Institute has also announced the early payment of other benefits this month to provide relief to families during the peak shopping season. To avoid unnecessary delays, the institute recommends verifying that your bank account details are properly updated in the personal area on their website.
