Ahead of the school year: 16 illegal residents arrested near educational institutions in central Israel

In a police operation in Tel Aviv and Herzliya, three residents of Jenin were located in a school undergoing renovations and six others at a construction site near a study center. Seven additional illegal residents were arrested and two employers were detained for questioning.

As part of police preparations for the 2026/2027 school year, 16 illegal residents were arrested over the last 24 hours in Herzliya and Tel Aviv. The individuals were located in a school undergoing renovations and at a construction site near a study center. Two employers were detained for questioning.

During operations by the Glilot police station, three residents of Jenin who were in Israel without the required permits were found in a Herzliya school currently undergoing renovations. Their employer, a resident of the Lower Galilee in his 50s, was detained for questioning on suspicion of illegal employment.

In a separate operation at a construction site near a study center in the Old North neighborhood of Tel Aviv, six residents of the territories were arrested for lacking valid permits. Their employer, a resident of the Lower Galilee in his 40s, was also detained.

Additionally, officers from the Lev Tel Aviv station arrested seven more illegal residents. In total, 16 individuals were arrested during the operation, which was conducted in the Yarkon district with the participation of officers from the Glilot, Tel Aviv North, and Lev Tel Aviv stations, alongside standby squad members and volunteers.
