The Los Angeles Lakers secured a 103-87 victory over their crosstown rivals, the Los Angeles Clippers, despite playing without Luka Dončić. Collin Sexton emerged as one of the heroes of the night, contributing 21 points off the bench on 6-of-11 shooting, including 4-of-7 from beyond the arc, alongside 4 rebounds and 2 assists.

Viral Facial Expressions

Beyond his impressive performance on the court, the 27-year-old guard became the talk of social media for an entirely different reason. During the game, Sexton was captured playing intense defense against Cam Christie with an unusually fierce facial expression. The image quickly spread across social platforms, sparking numerous memes and amused reactions from fans who could not ignore his extraordinary gaze.

This is not the first time Sexton has gone viral for his facial expressions on the parquet. After the match, he explained that his intense look is simply a reflection of the energy he aims to bring to his defensive game.

Coach Redick Praises Defensive Intensity

Lakers head coach JJ Redick did not hide his enthusiasm for the energy the guard injects into the squad. The Lakers limited the Clippers to 35.1 percent shooting from the field and forced them into 24 turnovers. Darius Garland struggled to lead the visitors, finishing with just 14 points on 4-of-12 shooting and 5 turnovers.

"Sometimes it's hard to get his attention because he is so focused. He is locked right into the game," Redick said regarding Sexton. "I love it. I love that competitive fire. We saw some things defensively that made us say, okay, we can be good. We have a lot of things we need to improve, but we have the tools to be a decent, if not very good, defensive defense."
