Consuming fruits during the summer season requires balance and adherence to nutritional rules in order to enjoy their benefits without overdoing the sugar intake. Dr. Shaun Portal, an exercise physiologist and clinical dietitian, shed light on the subject in an interview for the program "The World This Morning":

"The Ministry of Health recommends eating two to three fruits a day."

While these fruits contain vitamins, minerals, and dietary fibers that contribute to health, the way they are consumed is critical. Dr. Portal warns against switching to fruit juices, as they lead to a rapid and sharp absorption of sugar into the blood compared to eating the fruit whole. He emphasizes: "It is very important that the fruit be fresh or frozen, but not fruit juice."
