Low-cost carrier Transavia accelerates its return to Israel
French airline Transavia France has announced it is moving its return to Israel forward. Instead of the previously scheduled September 8 date, the company will resume flights at the end of August.
The French airline Transavia France, part of the Air France-KLM group, has announced the acceleration of its planned return to Israel. The company, which has operated in Israel intermittently since the beginning of the war, has moved its return to Ben Gurion Airport forward from September 8 to the end of August.
In the first stage, the low-cost carrier will resume its direct line between Ben Gurion Airport and Orly Airport in Paris on August 31. On September 8, as planned, two additional routes to Marseille and Lyon will be restored. The company is expected to operate 12 weekly flights on the main route from Paris, with a schedule including two daily flights from Monday to Friday and one flight on each weekend day.
One-way tickets to Paris for September start at 58 euros, though they are being snapped up quickly, leaving almost no availability for the month.
This announcement follows a prolonged period of instability. Last June, the company announced a sweeping cancellation of all flights to Israel for the summer season due to the security situation. Its decision to resume flights in late August joins a broader positive trend of major foreign airlines, including American giants like Delta and United, which are restoring operations at Ben Gurion Airport ahead of the Tishrei holiday period.
