The giant chain acquires competitors: will expand to 138 branches in Israel
The Hassid Group, which owns Pizza Shemesh and Pizza Pargo, has acquired the Pizza Cheese chain, which has 5 branches across the country. As part of the move, the group plans to expand the chain and open at least 5 additional branches.
The Hassid Group announced on Thursday the acquisition of the Pizza Cheese chain from a group of buyers. The deal includes the chain's 5 branches, located in Ra'anana, Rosh HaAyin, Modi'in, Ashdod, and Ashkelon. The branches cover about 100 square meters and include seating areas and a delivery service. This was reported in "Israel Hayom".
Pizza Cheese is a strictly kosher chain, offering regular pizzas alongside gluten-free pizza and vegan pizza, as well as pastas, salads, and other dishes. Similar to Pizza Shemesh, the acquired chain also offers a large family tray for 30 shekels.
Yariv Halfon, CEO of the Hassid Group, said that the acquisition was made, among other reasons, because of the chain's name and its strong branches. According to him, it is a chain with different characteristics, among other things due to the large branch areas and the many seating places. "We are going to develop the chain and grow it," he said.
Today, the Hassid Group, owned by Sharon Hassid, holds 102 branches of Pizza Shemesh, including a branch in Thailand, with another branch expected to open soon, and in addition 25 branches of Pizza Pargo. The group plans to open at least 5 additional branches of Pizza Cheese in the first stage, and subsequently continue to expand the chain.
