Kylian Mbappé in the crosshairs: Football star targeted for kidnapping

A serious criminal case uncovered in France is attracting significant attention after law enforcement authorities allegedly thwarted a plan that included kidnappings and robberies of dozens of wealthy and well-known people. According to a report by the French newspaper "Le Parisien", 26 individuals were on the target list, including football star Kylian Mbappé.

At the center of the investigation is an 18-year-old, Clément L., who was already behind bars at Villepinte prison for alleged involvement in a robbery as part of an organized gang. It is suspected that during his time in prison, he continued to maintain contacts with individuals outside the facility via social media, using the alias "Lester Z" on Snapchat.

The case was uncovered after a detailed list of 26 people allegedly marked as targets was found during a search of the young man's mobile devices. The list included names, addresses, and other details, with the alleged intention being to break into their homes and carry out kidnappings in order to obtain significant sums of money.

Among the targets were wealthy businessmen, including a meat wholesaler and a well-known watchmaker. However, the most prominent name on the list was Kylian Mbappé. According to the report, the football star's details and address were stored on one of the devices found.

It is suspected that the young man tried to activate criminal elements from the outside to carry out the tasks for him, while he himself continued to manage the connections from within the prison. According to the investigation, instructions were passed via social media.

On August 21, Clément L. was brought to trial in the city of Nanterre on charges related to the organization and planning of a series of kidnappings and break-ins. Following the investigation, he was placed in solitary confinement. Another suspect investigated in the case was released under judicial supervision.

However, it is important to emphasize that at this stage, these are suspicions and a plan attributed to the suspects. There is no indication that an actual attempt was made to kidnap Mbappé or any of the other people who appeared on the list.
