President Herzog Launches Voting Abroad
President Isaac Herzog visited the Israeli Embassy in Baku, Azerbaijan, marking the official opening of ballot boxes at diplomatic outposts abroad. Accompanied by Israel's Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Ronen Kraus, the President cast his spotlight on the democratic process and urged citizens to participate actively.
"These elections are a celebration of democracy in Israel and at its embassies abroad. I call upon all citizens of the state to exercise their right to vote and, of course, to influence Israel's future," Herzog stated during the visit.
Herzog emphasized that these elections come after a challenging period for the nation, adding that political competition must remain constructive: "Elections are not a civil war. On the contrary, it is our true process to influence our lives and determine the direction the country is heading."
Global Diplomatic Outposts Open Polls
According to reports, hundreds of Israeli emissaries and their spouses are expected to cast their ballots across various missions. The new Israeli Embassy in Fiji was the first to open its polling stations globally.
