Sea of Galilee Beaches Closed Due to Water Quality Issues
The Ministry of Health closed three beaches on the Sea of Galilee due to abnormal water test results, as legal battles continue over public access and illegal structures.

The Ministry of Health announced on Monday that the Tzinbari, Tzemach, and Gofra beaches on the Sea of Galilee are immediately closed to swimming following abnormal microbiological results found in water quality tests. The ministry reminds the public that swimming is permitted only at authorized beaches.
This development comes shortly after the Nazareth District Court ordered the immediate revocation of operating licenses for the famous Bora Bora beach on the Sea of Galilee. The court also issued detailed demolition orders for illegal structures at the site, demanding the immediate removal of hazards and fences that blocked public access to the shoreline for years.
The ruling followed a petition filed by the Adam Teva V'Din association and planning head Yael Dory. For about 17 years, a private beach operated at the location, charging admission while relying on temporary permits without an approved construction plan.
