Kfar Saba Mayor Rafi Saar and Wife Released Under Restrictive Conditions
The Rishon LeZion Magistrates Court released Kfar Saba Mayor Rafi Saar and his wife Meital Saar under restrictive conditions, rejecting harsher police demands.
The Rishon LeZion Magistrates Court ordered the release under restrictive conditions of Kfar Saba Mayor Rafi Saar and his wife, Meital Saar.
Meital Saar was released to full house arrest until November 1, along with a ban on contacting those involved in the case. She was ordered to deposit 50,000 shekels in cash and sign third-party guarantees. Rafi Saar faces similar conditions, including a ban from entering Kfar Saba municipal facilities until November 15.
Police had requested harsher measures, including 14 days of house arrest and a 60-day prohibition on contact between the couple, citing concerns over potential interference with the ongoing investigation. Defense attorneys argued that the police demands were unreasonable and disproportionate given the lack of concrete evidence presented so far.
