Guests Allege Food Poisoning Outbreak at Ramat Gan Hotel
Several families visiting the Kfar Maccabiah hotel in Ramat Gan suffered severe food poisoning symptoms after dining. Guests accused management of downplaying the incident, while the hotel stated samples were sent for lab testing.

A weekend family getaway at the Kfar Maccabiah hotel in Ramat Gan turned into a nightmare for several guests who suffered from severe vomiting, diarrhea, and stomach aches after eating at the hotel dining room.
A Family Vacation Interrupted
Visitors reported that the symptoms began shortly after dinner, leaving adults and young children confined to their hotel bathrooms throughout Saturday. One guest, speaking to mako, described how she and ten family members spent the weekend in agony. "My mother was about to faint from the pain, my sister's child cried all night, and my husband started suffering as well," she recounted.
Other guests shared identical experiences, discovering through random encounters in the dining room and a hastily created WhatsApp group that multiple families were affected. Guests also pointed out spoiled food items, including curdled milk served with coffee and mold on a sealed package of butter.
Management Response and Controversy
Guests expressed deep frustration with the hotel management, accusing them of attempting to downplay the incident and denying responsibility. According to the guests, the food and beverage manager repeatedly claimed that they were the first and only ones to complain, telling different families that hundreds of people ate without issue and suggesting the symptoms were merely a viral bug rather than food poisoning.
After discovering that numerous families had lodged complaints, guests confronted the management over the contradictory statements. The front desk manager eventually apologized for the misinformation, while guests preserved food samples and awaited laboratory results.
Hotel Statement
Kfar Maccabiah management responded that over 400 guests dined at the hotel over the weekend, with thousands served throughout the week without prior incidents. The hotel noted that it recently passed a surprise Ministry of Health inspection successfully. Representatives confirmed that four families reported symptoms, and food technologists immediately initiated an internal investigation while sending meal samples to a certified laboratory reporting directly to the Ministry of Health.
