The Beersheba Magistrate Court on Sunday permitted the publication of the name of Efram Melada, who is suspected of murdering his wife, Nania (Anania) Melada, in Beersheba last week.

Judge Asif Gil lifted the gag order following a petition by the ynet website and journalist Ilana Curiel. Concurrently, Melada's remand was extended until October 26 at 1:00 PM. The judge stated that high-threshold reasonable suspicion exists against the suspect, noting that new evidence has been gathered and the suspect has implicated himself.

According to the suspicion, the 40-year-old victim was stabbed to death on October 11 in her apartment on Bnei Or Street in Beersheba, while their five-year-old son was present. Police stated that the husband called emergency services and confessed, leading to his immediate arrest at the scene.

While the publication ban on the father was lifted, the gag order remains on the name of the couple's minor son and any details that could reveal his identity. Relatives noted prior threats, though police stated there was no known history of domestic violence.
