Tel Aviv nightlife icon and "Connected" star Karol Zvi Weiner has died at 45 after a battle with cancer, leaving behind a young son and a legacy in the city's culinary scene.
Tel Aviv television and nightlife icon Karol Zvi Weiner, star of the eighth season of the documentary series "Connected", has passed away at the age of 45 after a prolonged and courageous battle with cancer.
Before her television breakthrough, Zvi was a well-known figure in the Tel Aviv nightlife scene. Alongside her partner and business associate Miki Weiner, she managed the popular "Geula" bar and previously ran the "Helen Karol" bar near the Carmel Market.
Her widespread public exposure came in 2017 when she joined "Connected". The cameras captured her during one of the most turbulent periods of her life: following years of trying to conceive, the show documented her long-awaited pregnancy and the birth of her son.
Alongside the profound joy, the series also recorded her chilling diagnosis of a neck growth during pregnancy, all while coping with the heavy grief of losing her sister Karin, who also passed away from cancer.
