Following the conclusion of the Tishrei holiday season, the Israeli tourism market traditionally experiences a decline in demand for long vacations abroad. In response to this trend, the Issta tourism company is launching a new product tailored to busy schedules and family budgets: "Cyprus Quickie" – focused, short winter getaways for those looking to experience abroad without prolonged absence from work.

The New Weekend Concept

The new concept is designed to meet the need for a quick, close-to-home refresh at an accessible cost starting from 700 shekels per person. The price includes round-trip flights and hotel accommodation. Packages are planned for short weekend schedules – from Thursday to Friday or Friday to Saturday – a model allowing travelers to fly, enjoy, shop, and return without depleting annual vacation days. Furthermore, flights are mostly operated by Israeli airlines, providing certainty and flexibility.

"You pay 700 shekels and breathe foreign air for 48 hours – isn't it worth it? We decided to create discounted, short packages that utilize the geographical proximity to allow our customers to hop abroad for a quickie," said Tali Noy, VP of Strategy, Marketing, and Digital at Issta.

Variety of Options and Target Audience

Noy adds that the target audience is particularly diverse, ranging from groups of friends and mother-daughter trips to couples heading out for a shopping spree or spa retreat immediately following the holidays.

The offer includes packages in various hotels on selected dates in November, January, and February. Examples for November include a one-night stay in Larnaca starting from $289 per person, and a two-night weekend starting from $246 per person. Tourism experts estimate that these targeted flash vacations will continue to gain momentum during the upcoming winter season due to Cyprus's proximity and short flight time.
