Israir Opens New York Ticket Sales on Airbus A330 From $1,600
Israir, owned by Rami Levy, opens ticket sales for Tel Aviv-New York flights on its newly acquired Airbus A330 fleet. Flights start September 15, 2026, with prices ranging from $1,600 to $1,900.
Israeli airline Israir, owned by businessman Rami Levy, has completed preparations to operate two wide-body Airbus A330 aircraft in just three and a half months, and will open ticket sales for flights to New York tonight (Monday).
On May 27, 2026, the company made the final payment for the purchase of the two aircraft, representing a total investment of approximately $85 million, including service adjustments and spare parts inventory.
Operational and Regulatory Milestones
Since then, Israir has completed a large-scale operational and regulatory process, which included signing more than 60 agreements in various fields and obtaining the necessary approvals from the Civil Aviation Authority of Israel, the US Department of Transportation, and the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
In parallel, the company recruited and trained dedicated flight crews to operate the A330 aircraft, while continuing to operate its fleet of eight narrow-body Airbus A320 aircraft.
Flight Schedule and Fleet Expansion
The maiden flight from Tel Aviv to New York is scheduled for September 15, 2026, with the first return flight from New York to Israel set for September 17. The deployment of the aircraft will be carried out gradually and under close supervision to ensure a safe and efficient entry into service across safety, operational, and service aspects.
Israir will support this expansion through the Super Fly credit card utilizing leading technology, the expansion of commercial agreements and strategic partnerships, and the expansion of its proprietary maintenance center.
Alongside the two self-operated A330 aircraft, Israir plans to operate two additional wide-body aircraft under wet-lease agreements. The company is already preparing to integrate a third self-operated wide-body aircraft during the second half of 2027.
Ticket Pricing
Passengers wishing to fly during the high-demand Jewish holiday season will face exceptionally high prices:
"Ticket prices during the holiday season are expected to start at $1,900 and increase. Even those who wait until after the holidays will not find a major bargain, with the post-holiday price planned at approximately $1,600."
