Israir Launches Direct Flights to New York Amid High Holiday Demand
Israir is set to launch its inaugural flight to New York, becoming the fifth airline and the third Israeli carrier to operate on this lucrative route. Initially, no dramatic price drops are expected as the market is still experiencing peak holiday demand.
However, to mark the launch, companies like Issta have introduced promotional discounts, such as a $100 reduction for bookings made ahead of time. This brings round-trip fares down to around $1,499 for late September dates.
Post-Holiday Price Drops and Returning Competition
Travelers looking beyond the holiday season will find significantly lower airfares to the Big Apple. While January and February remain cold in New York, prices drop notably. Spring months like March through May offer more comfortable weather, with certain dates featuring flights priced under the $1,000 threshold.
"The return of major US carriers alongside the expansion of Israeli airlines is a significant development for the US route market," says Tamar Garzon, CEO of Gulliver. "During a period of limited supply, travelers felt it strongly in prices and options. Now, with more companies, routes, and seats, competition is returning."
