Israeli Police Liaison Assists in Arrest of Fugitive in Bolivia
Israel Police liaison Walter Kening assisted Bolivian authorities in arresting an Israeli fugitive wanted for drug smuggling since 2017, following a targeted intelligence operation in Santa Cruz.

Lieutenant Colonel Walter Kening, the Israel Police liaison in South America, has successfully assisted local authorities in Bolivia with the arrest of an Israeli fugitive who had been evading justice for nine years.
International Operation in Santa Cruz
The fugitive was wanted in connection with an attempt to smuggle 5.3 kilograms of cocaine into Israel in 2017 using a courier from Bolivia. Following months of intensive intelligence gathering, Kening located the suspect in the city of Santa Cruz and participated directly in the law enforcement operation.
"I am Walter, a representative of the Intelligence Division of the Israel Police. We reach even here, to Bolivia," Kening stated during the arrest.
The Israel Police emphasized that procedures for the extradition of the suspect to Israel are currently underway, noting that officers operate globally to pursue criminals across borders.
Growing International Profile
Kening previously gained widespread public attention in August when he successfully tracked down Mali and Liel Yehalom, a mother and daughter whose mysterious international travels had triggered a global search, eventually locating them in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
