Israeli UN Ambassador attempted to deliver a Starlink router to the Iranian delegation following Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's address at the UN General Assembly.
UN Assembly Confrontation Over Starlink Router
Israeli Ambassador to the UN approached the Iranian delegation's chief during the UN General Assembly to deliver a Starlink device as a "gift" from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The Iranian representative refused to look at the ambassador and declined the device.
During his address to the UN General Assembly, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu displayed a Starlink communications router, owned by billionaire Elon Musk, leaving it behind as a symbolic "gift" for the Iranian delegation.
"The tyrants in Tehran are afraid. Do you know what they fear more than anything? Their own people. The brave Iranian people, who have sacrificed so much for so long," stated Netanyahu.
Netanyahu Targets Regime Censorship and International Hypocrisy
Netanyahu emphasized that the Iranian regime spends billions on internet censorship to suppress truth and freedom of expression. He left the router with the President of the General Assembly to pass on to the Iranian delegation.
Furthermore, Netanyahu criticized international hypocrisy, questioning where global human rights protesters were when the Iranian regime suppressed domestic protests and persecuted minorities across the Middle East.
Meanwhile, the Iranian delegation staged a protest of their own. As numerous national delegates walked out of the hall during the Israeli Prime Minister's speech, the Iranian delegation placed a photograph of the assassinated General Qasem Soleimani in the vacant Iranian representative seat.
