Israel Railways Announces Major Service Disruptions in Haifa and the North
Israel Railways announced temporary service suspensions and station closures in Haifa and northern regions on upcoming Fridays, offering free shuttle services.

Thousands of passengers using Israel Railways on upcoming Fridays while traveling to and from northern Israel are expected to face severe traffic disruptions.
The Haifa Hof HaCarmel station will close tomorrow (Friday), October 9, 2026, as will Friday, October 16, 2026, and train traffic at stations north of it will be suspended. This is a temporary change in train traffic in the Haifa and northern region, which will last throughout Friday.
While the trains will not operate as usual, Israel Railways will operate a free shuttle service in both directions. This will provide a response for passengers whose travel is affected by the suspension of traffic and the closure of the Haifa Hof HaCarmel station.
The temporary arrangement is expected to end ahead of the beginning of next week. On Sunday, October 11, 2026, train traffic will return to normal with the resumption of service.
The announcement published by Israel Railways comes ahead of the disruption day, aiming to allow passengers to update themselves on the change before setting out. Alongside the announcement of the suspension of traffic and the station closure, passengers were directed to the railway's information channels for further details.
