Israel and Morocco are deepening their defense ties as eight Israeli defense companies participate for the first time in the official Marrakech Air Show. The Israeli pavilion, spearheaded by the Ministry of Defense's SIBAT directorate, showcases advanced military technologies including air defense systems, AI-based robotics, and loitering munitions.

Expanding Defense Cooperation

The Abraham Accords have significantly boosted security relations between Jerusalem and Rabat since 2020, with cumulative defense deals surpassing $2 billion. Major Israeli firms such as Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, and Elbit Systems are displaying state-of-the-art systems, including the Barak MX air defense, Hermes 900 drones, and precision-guided munitions.

"The first participation of Israel in the exhibition in Morocco constitutes an important milestone for the Ministry of Defense and the Israeli defense industry," said Brig. Gen. (Res.) Yair Kulas, Director of SIBAT.

High-Level Visits and Technology Showcase

Senior Moroccan defense officials, including the minister delegated to national defense and the chief of the Royal Armed Forces, toured the Israeli pavilions. Rafael CEO Yoav Turgeman inaugurated the SIBAT pavilion, highlighting systems like the Spyder air defense and Iron Beam laser technology, tailored to modern operational needs.
