Coalition Members Skip Tel Aviv Conference on Israel-Diaspora Relations
Israeli coalition figures skipped a Tel Aviv conference on Israel-Diaspora relations, sparking intense political debates regarding representation and institutional reform.

Diaspora Relations and Political Debate
Israeli coalition representatives notably absented themselves from an election conference focusing on Israel-Diaspora relations, held at the ANU Museum in Tel Aviv. Initiated by the Peoplehood Coalition in cooperation with EJP, the event drew around 500 Jewish participants from across the globe. Although invitations were extended to all political parties, no coalition members attended the live-streamed conference.
Criticism of Zionist Institutions
Fleur Hassan-Nahoum, a candidate for the 'Am Yisrael' party, delivered the harshest remarks at the event, criticizing the World Zionist Organization and calling for comprehensive reform or its closure.
'90% of what the World Zionist Organization does with our money is to distribute jobs to friends and former politicians. There are people there who hold positions but do not even show up to work,' Hassan-Nahoum stated.
Representation and Future Policies
MK Oded Forer of Yisrael Beytenu argued that repairing relations with the Diaspora remains impossible if ultra-Orthodox factions maintain seats in the governing coalition. Meanwhile, MK Moshe Tor-Paz proposed establishing a '121st Knesset Member' position to represent Diaspora voices without voting rights.
