After four years, Israeli producer and event planner Irit Rahimi is once again opening her personal wardrobe to sell luxury designer clothing, shoes, and handbags accumulated over years of high-end purchases. The exclusive sale, held at the upscale Sea and Sun complex in Tel Aviv, requires women to pre-register for specific time slots, drawing considerable attention from fashion enthusiasts.

Comparing Designer Prices and Savings

Beyond the allure of high-end labels like Chanel, Dior, CELINE, and Alaïa, the practical consumer question remains: how deep are the discounts compared to buying brand-new items? A close look at several items featured in the sale reveals dramatic price gaps, with discounts ranging roughly from 55% to 75% off retail.

For instance, a pair of black Alaïa mesh ballet flats is priced at 1,200 NIS at the sale, compared to a brand-new retail price of approximately 3,100 NIS, representing a savings of roughly 61%. An even steeper discount was found on green and white CELINE Leo Scratch double-strap sandals, listed at 700 NIS compared to a retail value of around 2,800 NIS—a remarkable 75% savings.

Handbag Bargains and Luxury Icons

The price discrepancies are even more pronounced when examining luxury handbags, where initial sums are significantly higher. A pink Dior Bobby East-West calfskin handbag is offered at 3,500 NIS, whereas a comparable new model retails near 3,600 USD, translating to a 65% to 70% reduction.

Similarly, a classic black Chanel Classic Flap bag, featuring the iconic quilted caviar leather and CC turn-lock, is listed at 10,000 NIS. Given that current new Maxi Classic models retail in the United States for upwards of 13,200 USD (nearly 40,000 NIS), the sale price reflects an approximate 75% discount. Another standout piece, a beige Chanel 19 handbag, is available for 8,000 NIS, roughly two-thirds less than its retail price in brand boutiques. While second-hand conditions and exact model variations require cautious shopping, these figures highlight a compelling trend in luxury resale.
