Indian police arrested Kalyan Bainsla on Tuesday after a shocking video of a car striking a motorcycle rider and driving away went viral on social media, sparking widespread public outrage across the country. Bainsla denied intentionally hitting the motorcyclist, but police added an attempted murder charge to the case file, which could carry a lengthy prison sentence.

The incident was captured by a camera mounted on the victim's motorcycle. The footage shows a white car approaching and striking the motorcycle, sending the rider flying onto the asphalt as the vehicle continues on its way without stopping.

Driver Claims Fear of Attack While Victim Alleges Harassment

Bainsla, a gym owner, claimed that a group of motorcyclists repeatedly overtook his car and slowed down in front of him. He stated that he lost control near a U-turn while trying to avoid the rider and drove away because he feared being attacked after alleged verbal abuse.
