A senior military official warned on Monday about the high risk of miscalculation regarding Iran and growing tensions between the political leadership and the military establishment. The official stressed that the current security climate is volatile and that any careless statement could alter the regional reality.

"Iran has been burned twice and is now acting cautiously, assuming a defensive posture even if the other side has no intention of attacking," the military source stated. Referring to public speculation and a recent tweet by US President Donald Trump following reports of potential strikes, the official emphasized how fragile the situation is as election approaches.

Tensions and Political Discourse

Reports emerged regarding a tense exchange between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Chief of Staff at the Palmahim Airbase. However, the military clarified that discussions remained professional. Officials noted that the defense establishment has been working to ensure elections proceed safely without security disruptions.

Security officials expressed concern that recent statements by Netanyahu regarding Iran could be misinterpreted by Tehran as an imminent strike, potentially triggering a preemptive Iranian attack. Meanwhile, Defense Minister Israel Katz dismissed reports of friction as entirely baseless, affirming full coordination between the political echelon and the IDF.
