The IDF marked a historic milestone on Wednesday as the first class of infantry officers from the Hasmonean Brigade completed their rigorous training course. The graduation ceremony took place on the roof of the Western Wall Yeshiva in Jerusalem, highlighting the integration of ultra-Orthodox soldiers into military leadership.

Historic Milestone for Hasmonean Brigade

Addressing the newly commissioned officers, the Chief of Staff emphasized the significance of the event. "This is a historic and moving event. You are making history and forging a new path with the graduation of the first officer course of the Hasmonean Brigade. You are leaders who realize a grand vision of the entire Jewish people," he stated.

You are already integrated into operational activity, and you can be deployed for any mission, in defense and offense, including maneuvering. You are partners in building the Hasmonean Brigade as a strong infantry brigade.

Tailored Training and Operational Readiness

The eight-month course concluded with the commissioning of 15 cadets. Training was conducted in strict adherence to General Staff directives regarding the integration of ultra-Orthodox personnel, maintaining strict kashrut standards, dedicated prayer and study times, and an adapted gender environment.

Throughout their training, the cadets participated in operational activities in Lebanon and Judea and Samaria. Recruitment and screening processes for the next officer course within the Hasmonean Brigade are already underway, with the next cohort slated to begin in November.
