Idan David Resigns from Sports Betting Council Amid Fraud Investigation
Idan David has resigned from the Sports Betting Council board amid a police fraud investigation over allegations that he systematically falsified his resume for senior public posts.

Idan David has stepped down as a director of the Sports Betting Council (Toto) following a police investigation and allegations that he falsified his resume.
"I thank you for the trust placed in me and for the privilege of taking part in the council's activities and promoting sports in Israel," David wrote to board chairman Shabtai Tzur.
Last weekend, it was cleared for publication that David, a former chairman of Ayalon Highways, is the senior official investigated by the National Fraud Unit (Lahav 433) on suspicion of fraud, breach of trust, forgery, use of a forged document, and submitting a false affidavit. The move follows an investigative report broadcast on Channel 12 alleging that David systematically inflated his managerial experience to meet threshold requirements for the state-owned company post.
Simultaneously, the government is preparing a civil lawsuit against David to recover approximately 300,000 shekels in unlawfully received salary and for damages to the company's reputation. Idan David has not been charged or convicted, and the presumption of innocence applies.
