Actor Idan Borulya Shares Personal Suicide Attempt Struggle in Emotional Video
Actor and content creator Idan Borulya shared a moving personal confession about his suicide attempt during military service, urging youth facing mental distress to hold on.

Content creator and actor Idan Borulya, known for his viral videos with HaPshuta, shared a deeply painful and moving personal confession with his followers on social media as part of International Suicide Prevention Awareness Month. In a raw and emotional video, Borulya spoke for the first time about prolonged mental suffering, abuse, and hardships that accompanied him from childhood, as well as a suicide attempt during his military service.
Overcoming Darkness and Finding Hope
"I am Idan and I tried to commit suicide," Borulya began with rare openness. He shared his complex childhood and the suffering he endured: "I experienced physical and mental abuse throughout my childhood, and by the age of seven, I was already saying I wanted to die. At 17, it was the first time I harmed myself. When I was drafted into the IDF, I realized my attraction to men was not going to change, and that created a very big complex for me."
Borulya went on to describe the severe loneliness that pushed him to the edge during his army service: "I felt that my family and friends didn't want me, I felt alone. One day at an army base, I took a pack of pills and tried to end my suffering. It hurt so much, and I must thank God it didn't succeed because I would have missed out on my whole life.
Do not give up. I know it's hard. But it is possible. I know many young people experience daily hardships... and I am here to tell you that the difficult period we are going through is temporary.
He concluded with an encouraging and hopeful message to anyone experiencing similar mental distress, providing helpline numbers for organizations like ERAN and the Aguda hotline for LGBTQ+ youth.
