Heroin, crystal, and ecstasy: drugs worth millions seized in Lod
Approximately 2.5 kilograms of drugs were seized during searches in several compounds in the HaRakevet neighborhood and its surroundings. Alongside the drugs, hundreds of test tubes, scales, and equipment suspected of being used for distribution were found. Two residents of the city in their 20s were arrested for questioning.
Drugs of various types, with a total weight of approximately 2.5 kilograms and an estimated value of about two million shekels, were seized in recent days during a police operation in the HaRakevet neighborhood in Lod and its surroundings. Two young men in their 20s, residents of the city, were arrested on suspicion of involvement in the possession of the drugs.
According to the police, the seizure was carried out as part of the activity of a special task force operating in the Central District against violent crime in Lod and its surroundings, and as part of targeted activity against crime families.
During searches conducted in several compounds in the HaRakevet neighborhood and the area adjacent to it, substances suspected to be heroin, crystal, ecstasy, and cannabis were found. The total weight of the seized substances is approximately 2.5 kilograms, and the police estimate their value at about two million shekels.
Alongside the drugs, hundreds of test tubes, scales, and other equipment suspected of being used for drug distribution were seized. Following the findings, two Lod residents in their 20s were arrested and transferred for questioning at the city's police station. All exhibits seized were transferred to forensic identification laboratories for further examination and evidence extraction.
