President Herzog Warns of Iran's Nuclear Ambitions in Fox News Interview

President Isaac Herzog addressed the nation and international community during an interview with Fox News, focusing on security threats, the ongoing fight against terrorism, and the anniversary of the October 7 massacre. Herzog emphasized the severe implications of a thwarted terror plot involving a flight from Dubai to Israel.

"We must look at things in the right perspective; we are discovering clear evidence of a terror attack—an attack that literally could have changed the world, and certainly the entire region," Herzog stated. He noted that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that the National Security Council (NSC) and its staff will thoroughly investigate the incident to address security gaps.

The Iranian Threat and Regional Security

Turning to the Iranian threat, Herzog praised the analytical approach of U.S. President Donald Trump regarding Tehran. He stressed that the international community faces an "empire of evil" driven by a jihadist ideology that threatens the free world.

"This is why it must never have access to nuclear capabilities—this is the essence of the matter, and this is the issue at hand," Herzog said, adding that regional partners are quietly cooperating to counter Tehran's network of proxies.

Herzog also addressed the Houthi maritime disruptions in the Bab al-Mandeb Strait, warning that a small faction is successfully choking vital global trade routes and impacting consumers worldwide.

Marking Three Years Since October 7

As Israel marks three years since the October 7 atrocities according to the Hebrew calendar, Herzog reflected on the profound national trauma and ongoing resilience.

"We want peace, we want peace with our neighbors. We did not ask for this war—it was forced upon us by cruel and barbaric terrorists," Herzog declared, reiterating that Israel's military actions defend the entire free world.
