A political storm erupted at the Handasa'im high school in Herzliya after a representative of the Otzma Yehudit party distributed badges depicting a hangman's noose to minor students.

The teaching staff intervened immediately to confiscate the badges, and the incident was referred to the municipal high school education department alongside the school administration.

Herzliya Mayor Yariv Fisher harshly condemned the act, calling it a violation of educational and moral red lines that will not be overlooked. Concurrently, the State Education Guard organization advised school principals to bar individuals associated with violence and racism.

In response, Otzma Yehudit defended the distribution, stating they are proud to illustrate the importance of deterrence against terror to the younger generation. The party added that a terrorist who comes to kill a Jew must die, and the badge reflects their serious intentions regarding a death penalty law for terrorists.

The controversy follows a series of political storms surrounding National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir and his party, who also faced intense public criticism over election banners claiming the October 7 massacres would not have occurred had he served as defense minister.
