Health Ministry Warns Public Against Illegal Peptides and Unapproved Substances
Israel's Ministry of Health issued a public warning against unapproved peptides and illicit aesthetic injections, highlighting severe health risks and lack of regulatory oversight.

The Ministry of Health has issued a public warning against purchasing and using illegal peptides and unapproved substances marketed for weight loss, body enhancement, and athletic performance. According to the ministry, these unauthorized compounds—promoted for injection or oral consumption—pose severe health risks and lack regulatory oversight.
The substances are frequently advertised for anti-aging and skin rejuvenation as well, despite having no official approval in Israel. Health authorities strongly advise the public to avoid acquiring such products from unregulated sources, regardless of claims regarding physical appearance, fat reduction, or physical capabilities.
The targeted compounds include peptides such as BPC-157, GHK-Cu, CJC-1295, and TB-500. Additionally, the ministry issued a specific warning concerning retatrutide, a substance currently undergoing clinical trials for obesity treatment that remains unapproved for marketing in Israel.
Unregulated consumption carries major health hazards, including liver and kidney damage, hormonal imbalances, blood sugar fluctuations, severe allergic reactions, and infections. Furthermore, products manufactured without proper oversight may contain dangerous contaminants or undisclosed ingredients, compromising user safety.
This warning aligns with similar advisories issued by health authorities in Canada and Australia. The ministry urges citizens to purchase pharmaceuticals exclusively through legal and licensed channels, avoiding unverified websites and social media platforms.
In a separate announcement earlier today, the ministry warned against stolen batches of aesthetic injectable products containing hyaluronic acid, sourced from warehouses belonging to Alphamedix and Umangamedix. Authorities fear these improperly stored products, including Radiessp and Stylage items, are circulating without supervision.
