Google is altering its pricing model and access tiers for Gemini artificial intelligence models, phasing out key benefits for subscribers in Israel and globally.

Pricing Restructuring

Starting October 9, free users will only have access to Google's Flash-Lite models, which are optimized for speed rather than advanced reasoning. Meanwhile, AI Plus subscribers will lose access to Pro models, restricted to Flash and Flash-Lite tiers. Only high-tier AI Pro and AI Ultra users will retain access to Gemini Pro.

Impact on Cloud Subscribers

Users who pay for cloud storage ranging from 400 GB to 5 TB automatically fall under the AI Plus tier. Subscription costs for advanced access will jump significantly from 19 shekels to either 74.90 shekels or 390 shekels per month depending on the tier. Industry analysts suggest this move precedes the anticipated release of Gemini 4, though market competition remains intense.
