Google Unveils AI-Powered Design Tool with Hebrew Support
Google has launched Google Pics, a new AI-based image creation and editing tool. The platform uses natural language processing to allow users to generate professional designs without prior graphic design experience.
If you need to prepare a presentation, create marketing materials, or just a birthday invitation, you have likely found yourself switching between Canva, Adobe Express, Google Docs, or other sites to find a convenient tool. Now, Google offers a solution with Google Pics, a new AI-based image creation and editing tool.
Design Without Prior Experience
Unlike traditional tools that require manual placement of elements, Pics is based on natural language understanding and prompts. You start with a blank canvas and a chat window, similar to Gemini. You can also upload your own logos or images directly from Google Drive or Google Photos.
The engine behind the scenes relies on the search giant's models, led by Gemini and the Nano Banana image generation model. The goal is to allow anyone in an organization or family to produce professional graphic designs for posts, reports, or marketing materials, even without background in Photoshop or InDesign.
Element-Level Control
After you write your request in natural language (e.g., "A4 flyer for a Mexican-style Happy Hour this Thursday at 16:00"), the tool offers several design options. You can then click on any element to modify it.
"We tested the tool and asked to replace a cactus in the invitation with a sombrero, and entered new text in Hebrew. After clicking Apply, the changes were made with impressive accuracy, including automatic font size and color adjustments," the team reported.
You can also apply global changes, such as "translate everything to English" or "use cold colors."
Features for Marketers
Google has added features appealing to marketers: the system can upscale images to 2K or 4K resolution, ideal for printing or large screens. You can also crop designs to predefined social media formats. Everything happens in the cloud with collaborative access, just like in Google Docs.
The service is available today at pics.new at no extra cost for corporate Workspace users and private subscribers on Pro and Ultra plans.
