A 72-year-old man from Buq'ata was hospitalized in serious condition at Ziv Medical Center after being bitten by a snake in the Golan Heights.

A 72-year-old resident of Buq'ata was rushed to the Ziv Medical Center in Safed after being bitten in the hand by a snake in an agricultural field near Ein Zivan in the Golan Heights. This marks the second snakebite incident in the area within 24 hours.
The victim was evacuated by a Magen David Adom team in serious condition while disoriented and semi-conscious. Upon arrival at the emergency department, he exhibited symptoms including severe confusion, vomiting, profuse sweating, and critically low blood pressure.
Dr. Hussein Bushnak, acting head of the emergency department at Ziv Medical Center, stated that the patient received anti-venom treatment which led to an improvement in his condition. Following initial stabilization, the patient was transferred to the general intensive care unit for further treatment and observation.
Medical authorities remind the public that in the event of a snakebite, an ambulance should be called immediately. The victim must be laid down, kept calm, and the affected limb immobilized. Additionally, jewelry or tight clothing that could restrict blood circulation should be removed, and the appearance of the snake should be noted if possible to aid in identification.
