Police Conclude Corruption Probe Into Former Acre Mayor Over 2024 Elections
Israeli police concluded a year-long corruption investigation into former Acre mayor Amichai Ben Shlosh and other officials over alleged voter bribery during the 2024 elections.

Police have concluded a year-long investigation into former Acre mayor Amichai Ben Shlosh, deputy mayor Itamar Sonino, and several municipal officials regarding suspected election fraud during the 2024 mayoral race.
The National Unit for Fraud Investigations (Lahav 433) finalized the probe, which examined serious offenses including bribery, electoral bribery, and breach of trust. Investigators found that ahead of the local elections on February 27, 2024, suspects allegedly paid voters to secure their support for Ben Shlosh.
Authorities also suspect that the former mayor offered improper benefits, promised public jobs, and guaranteed perks to associates in exchange for mobilization help. The case file has now been transferred to the Haifa District Prosecutor's Office for review and a final decision.
